Volcano Experiment, VR and a Show in Reading Station.
Our volunteer Angeline, together with her son Dillon, prepared a volcano model from home and brought it to RS, to share with the children, on how to make lava. Our volunteer, Angeline used very simple and safe items such as, dish washing liquid, food coloring, vinegar and baking soda to demonstrate further. Children were excited to try this experiment and were eager to learn too. Each child were given opportunity to try pouring the ingredient carefully into the volcano's crater with supervision.

Next, all 10 children, tried on the Virtual Reality (VR). VR is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Some experienced it for the first time! Visuals they saw were dinosaurs and active volcano! They were thrilled and waited patiently for their turn to try on.

After which, Angeline using her laptop and projector, to share the definition and some facts about volcano. Soon after she introduced an interactive animated television series show called, Wallykazam. The series takes place in a colorful world resembling that of inside a fairy tale, in which the central characters reside. The show revolves around young troll Wally Trollman, who uses his magic stick to turn words into physical objects or occurrences, along with his pet dragon Norville and other friends. The duo occasionally runs into trouble, mostly caused by Bobgoblin. Children were amused with the funny characters and had so much fun listening and learning!
